Timber Design

Timber frame design is a type of construction where the structural members are made of wood. The most common type of timber frame structure is the post and beam method. This involves using large wooden beams, or posts, to support the weight of the roof and upper floors. Timber frame structures have been used for centuries and were once the most common type of construction in Europe. Today, they are most commonly found in rural areas or homes designed to look rustic or traditional.

Why Timber?

One advantage of the timber frame design is that it is solid and durable. Timber frames can last for hundreds of years if they are correctly maintained. Timber frame buildings also have good insulating properties, which can help to keep heating and cooling bills down.

There are several different ways to use timber. It can be used for structural purposes, like in building construction, or for decorative purposes, like woodworking or carpentry. We use timber for pergolas, pavilions, timber-built homes, and timber awnings. Timber can also simply be used as an aesthetic element in a landscape.

Whether you’re using it for construction, decoration, or simply as part of the scenery, timber can be a beautiful and versatile material. And thanks to the work of timber craftsman, it’s easy to find the perfect piece of lumber for any project.
